Don uses Ibanez, Kramer and Fender basses all loaded with Ghs Bass Boomers. Powered by Hartke 3500 into a 210/15 JBL cabinet, a Hartke 4/10 cabinet and Peavey Spider 1/15 cabinet with Sabine rack mount tuner and Audio-Technica rack mount wireless system. He also uses Shure and Sennheiser microphones. Although he has Zoom and Digi-tech effects, he prefers a raw pounding bass sound

Due to an unfortunate mishap, Don is now also the proud owner of a Peavey MegaBass amp head that he uses as a spare.

Inspired by Geddy Lee, Dennis Dunaway and Chris Squire, Don has played on stage with bands such as Pat Travers, Warrant, Slaughter, Nazareth, Vince Neil, and Aerosmith, he has also recorded a Cd with lead vocalist Brian Vollmer from Helix in the band Cherry St. on the Buster Cherry cd. Other semi-national acts he's toured with include Brat, Klawz and The Fruitflies. In 1989, Cherry St. appeared on MTV in a documentary on the "Pay to Play" music scene in Southern California
